San Francisco, CA/September 5, 2007 – Unicorn Restaurant, now open in San Francisco, provides Bay Area residents with an intriguing new dining option. Opened by Kiet Truong, an accomplished restaurateur, Unicorn Restaurant serves Pan Asian Cuisine prepared with fresh, seasonal, often locally sourced and/or organic ingredients.

Comments Truong, “I opened Unicorn Restaurant in San Francisco because of the huge following we have at the Unicorn location in Berkeley. Many of these folks work in the City and have often suggested that I should too. I’m glad they did because it’s great to see so many familiar faces here and also meet new people.”

The restaurant’s international wine list includes over150 selections, with 15 available by the glass, and has a French and California focus. There are over 15 choices of champagne including Cristal, Dom Perignon, Gosset and Deutz. The 10 seat bar also serves Asian cocktails made with soju. Unicorn Berkeley hosts quarterly wine dinners with partners such as Kermit Lynch, Navarro Vineyards and many others.

Unicorn Restaurant's interior design is a blend of Asian accents and clean contemporary aesthetics. Highlights include two communal tables weighing around a thousand pounds each. Both tables’ tops are 4-inch thick slabs of 30-year old reclaimed Suar wood from Indonesia which are mounted on cylindrical river rocks. The restaurant’s private dining area is separated from the main dining room by a hundred square foot water fixture with candles in between dual water curtains. On the walls are rich earth tone hues of yellow, brown and Tibetan red and the flooring is bamboo. The lounge area, lit by a dropped blown glass chandelier, can accommodate up to 20 people. The chic bar can seat up to 10 people.
